My heart is troubled
My head is heavy
My body weak
My very life seems spent
Is there a purpose? I ask

I see the distant mountains
Blue, against the afternoon sun
Still, silent, majestic
Perfect as the creator willed it
What is its purpose?

I see the river blue,
Winding its way down the mountain
Gurgling, laughing, teasing
Flowing through unlikely courses
What is its purpose?

All around is beauty, perfection
Purpose, in all His creation.
Lord, I now realise
How much more care
You must have taken, for me.
